The Neighborhood Happenings!

We always welcome community involvement in preparing, working and clean up on our events! If you'd like to be a volunteer for us on any of the below events, please email Sandy at olehoaboard@gmail.com

When events involve the neighborhood kids, we hold 'Open Gate' events so kids are not left out. Donations from non-members attending are much appreciated!

Easter Egg Hunt- Sunday, April 13    2p-4p                               

The Easter Bunny will be hopping around the Park laying out his Easter eggs for the big hunt! This big famly event kicks off our season of fun at the park! We have 3 age groups...

Be there at 2pm sharp, these kiddos are fast!

Ready for Spring  cleaning ? Always a bustling day in the neighborhood! Usually at least 20 homes participate so there is a great turn-out of shoppers!  

Mothers Day Sunset Mimosas ***– Sat, May 10th, 2024 - 

Come out and enjoy a sunset with ‘Momosas’ celebrating our moms in Oak Lakes! Members only event, but may bring guests (like your MOM!  :)

' 5-Card Float ' /Summer Solstice Adult Mingler*** - June 21, 2024  It's longest day of the year! Let’s not waste  a minute!

 "Float your boat" to several different lake docks and pick your card...$5 per boat entry, winning high hand gets cash!  

Or just have fun watching and join us all for a BYO sunset mingler at the dock   Members only event, but may bring guests!! Don't have a boat? Let us know, we have neighbors with extras to loan!

Garden Caravan– Saturday, June 28th- 8am to 12 noon  

Join your neighbors as we caravan around the neighborhood and share our beautiful gardens (both vegetable and flowers!) and learn their gardening tips!

Makers Market Artisan Showcase!    Saturday, Sept 13     11am - 4pm 

From acylic painting to woodworking, jewelry to metal work, soaps to breadmaking...and anything in between! 

It's time for Oak Lake and Glen Oaks Artisans to showcase their talents!  Watch emails and post- more details to follow!                                    

Chili CookOff/Cornhole/Car and Bike Show -  October 11th     Bring out your best chili  (had 17 entries last year!) and/ or your prized garage queen for bragging rights. Enter the adult (16 and older) random draw Cornhole Tourney. 

Chili tasting: $5 for  tasting all chilis! 

Trophies for Chili, Car/Bike and Cornhole!  

Neighborhood Yard Sales –  October 17 and 18    Ready for some before Christmas thinning? Always a bustling day in the neighborhood! Usually at least 30 homes participate so there is a great turn-out of shoppers!  

 Trunk or Treat – Sunday, October 26     1pm to 3pm– Another huge hit! Dress up your ‘trunk’ and join us at the  park to hand out candy and let the kiddos get an extra day in their costumes! Maybe we  can get that big ol’ fire truck to show up again this year!

Salute to Veterans  –Sunday, November 9th

Join us for the  Annual Veterans Day 1mi/5K Fun walk/Run! 

Meet time is 9:45am at the pavilion at Big Oak Park. 

The 5K will start at 10am, the 1 mi fun walk/run at 10:30 and we will all end there around 11am for a salute to honor our veterans! 

Bring a photo of your Veterans to share on the Photo Board!

Open to all in Oak Lake and Glen Oaks, family and friends.

 Santa in the Park – Sunday Dec 7 – 1pm to 3pm    Santa is coming to town…and landing right on our  dock at the lake!       A great time for photo op, no mall lines, BYO camera, and it's early  enough to put in those Christmas cards! 

Friendly, leashed pets welcome to sit on Santa's lap too! (from 2p-3pm for fur-babies please)

Tuesday Trivia at the Pavilion!***

3rd Tuesday, April thru October  630pm to 830pm

Trivia night  with Guy! Bring out your friends as a team or jump in with neighbors at the tables! Teams of 6 (ish)...if you don't have a team, we'll find you one!

BYO coolers with beverage of choice, snacks, and your thinkin' caps!  Adult members only event, but may bring guests!!

White Elephant Bingo Nights!***

4th Thursday, May thru October  630pm to 830pm

Join us and visit with neighbors for mingling and fun with White Elephant Bingo Night at the  Pavilion! Bring a White Elephant item that will fit in a lunch bag ~these will be the prizes!!
